President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has said that Egypt is keen on strengthening relations with Ghana to serve as a model of cooperation among African countries, through making the best use of potentials and resources in Africa.
Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday 5th Jan 21, with Ghana President’s special envoy Mr. Annan Catou, in the presence of Head of the General Intelligence Service Mr. Abbas Kamel.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, as well as the exchange of expertise with regard to dealing with coronavirus repercussions, said Presidential Spokesman Mr. Bassam Rady.
On his part, Ghana President’s envoy highlighted the deeply-rooted and historic ties binding the two countries, hailing the pivotal role played by Egypt as a main pillar of stability and security in the African continent.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of stepping up joint efforts to boost economic cooperation and intra-trade among African states, the spokesman noted.
