BTS have scooped the big prize at the 2021 Golden Disc Awards, taking home the Daesang for best album for Map Of The Soul: 7.

The members took to the stage to collect their award with rapper Suga, who had re-joined the line-up after taking time out from the group to recover from an operation on his shoulder.

The Daesang comes after they won the album division Bonsang and the award for the Curaprox Golden Disc most popular artist. On the first day of the awards on Saturday, the group took home the digital song division Bonsang.

In a message on Twitter they thanked their fans for supporting them. Sunday’s show saw BTS perform a slow jam remix of their hit single Dynamite, as well as tracks ON, Life Goes On and Black Swan.

Suga previously shared that he found it difficult being away from BTS after having surgery. ‘I could see the emptiness [onstage] because we’ve been together as a group of seven for so long.

Not necessarily because I’m not there, but because something that should be there is missing,’ he told Weverse magazine.

Other album division Bonsang winners on day two included NCT, GOT7, BLACKPINK, TWICE and NCT 127. (G)-IDLE and Stray Kids picked up best performance wins while NCT 127 bagged the Cosmopolitan artist award.
