Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will increase defence spending to 2 percent of gross domestic product, a more than two-fold increase since President Biden took office, the Biden administration announced on Monday.
In a joint statement with the Secretary General of NATO, President Biden welcomed the steps that the NATO Allies are taking to support Ukraine and to deepen partnerships, including in the Indo-Pacific region.
The President and the Secretary-General also discussed the significant progress that has been made in the defense spending of the Allies.
